Ava's World
Together Against Loneliness
A story about courage, friendship and finding your place in the world
Meet Ava
Ava is a very special part of the MyIkigai Sportswear karate community.
She first joined our karate classes when she was just 8 years old, and since then she has grown into one of the most inspiring members of our dojo.
Now 13 years old, Ava has become a familiar face in our community, always full of energy, determination, and the kind of smile that lights up the entire room.
Ava has been an important part of the MyIkigai journey.
In January 2023, when MyIkigai Sportswear held its very first photoshoot, Ava was there. From the very beginning she represented exactly what MyIkigai stands for; confidence, belonging and community through sport.

The Power of Karate
Karate has been an important part of Ava’s life for many years.
Through training, discipline and the support of her classmates, karate has helped Ava develop:
– Confidence
– Friendships
– Focus and determination
– A sense of belonging
In our dojo, every student trains together, supports each other and grows together.
For Ava, karate isn’t just a sport, it’s a place where she feels included, valued and strong.

A Film Inspired by Ava
When we wanted to create something truly special for World Down Syndrome Day, there was only one person who could tell that story – Ava.
We created a short film called “Ava’s World – Together Against Loneliness.”
The film tells the story of a young girl discovering karate, finding confidence, and becoming part of a community that believes in her.
It is a story about:
– Inclusion
– Friendship
– Courage
– The life-changing power of sport
And at the heart of that story is Ava.

If you’re here, it’s likely that you understand that Sport has the power to bring people together.
For many young people, especially those who may feel different or excluded, a supportive sporting community can change everything.
Ava reminds us that:
💛 Everyone deserves a place to belong
💛 Everyone deserves to feel strong
💛 Everyone deserves a chance to shine
Her story is a reminder that when communities come together, no one has to feel alone.
